Bactabío is a spin-off founded in 2005 and located at the Parc Científic i Tecnològic of Girona.

Bactabío was founded by researchers at the University of Barcelona with extensive experience in food microbiology and molecular microbiology. Our company owns self-developed technologies to culture and preserve lactic acid bacteria and other microorganisms with applications in the food industry (meat and dairy).

Bactabío has different self-developed biological products involved in several processes within the food industry. In addition, through our researchers experience we can address any approach focused to characterize and genetically manipulate bacteria and other microorganisms. Besides the products manufactured at our facilities, the company also offers technological support to others to solve problems in manufacturing processes related to the presence of bacteria or other microorganisms.
